The Summer School not only endowed me with valuable knowledge from the workshops and seminars but also given me a chance to meet other MBA students all around the world. During these several days encounter we learnt a lot about human behavior, organizational behavior and multicultural behaviors. Wonderfully in this summer school we had about 170 MBA students participants from 30 different countries including Australia, CANADA, Uganda, UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, Greece, Japan, Pakistan, Germany, Nigeria, Denmark, Lebanon, Bangladesh, USA, France, UK, Egypt. This is a first such wide array of nationalities I meet in a single program. It was like participating in a Global summit of learning World Economy, Culture and Business Administration.
Beside these valuable workshops there were dissertation preparatory workshops which helped me to formulate my dissertation research project. I had a one to one meeting with my dissertation supervisor who guided me and briefed me the research process and other essential points of my dissertation research.

School of Management Main Building

During the summer school the organizers mixed and mingled different groups the way that all the participants get to know each other after several sessions and this is one of a important strength of this program which enables you to meet a large number of people within a short period of time and can share your views and ideas very closely. We had informal meeting not only with the other MBA students but also with the world renowned academics, practitioners and authors  Dr. Simone Lilly, Dr. Matthew Higgins, Philip Hamilton, Prof Ken Jones, Dr. Richard Godfrey, Andrew Larkin, Prof Alison Stowel.

Gala Dinner at Leicester Tiger Club
At the end of the seven days program ULSM arranged a Gala Dinner where the current Summer School participants and the MBA Alumni members were participants which turned into a great meeting place of new business world entrants and the experienced business veterans.

The best lesson I learnt from Summer School is about Human relation. When I met other fellow MBA students my first impression has been built based on their external outlook. My initial impression has been modified completely after I introduced myself with them and spoke to them and exchanged views about life, career and many other issues. I could not imagine how deep their thought can be till I spoke to them and they opened up like blooming flower. It taught me a great deal of art of listening and understanding people sincerely and honestly.

Business Game Session

During the summer school 2012, ULSM arranged for Business Games which is a planned competition among several group of students. The subject matter of the Business Game was very challenging and thought provoking. We learnt how to utilize limited resources to optimize the value of an organization with different contextual constraints. The Business Game session successfully instill in the students how to act strategically and how to take decisions for a long-term success. The Business Game also taught leadership, motivation and persuasion which are great treasure for a successful business enterprise.
Another worthwhile workshop has been conducted on Leadership by Mr. Andrew Larkin the Principal Consultant of The Leadership Learning Team. The Leadership workshop was an group exercise which was designed to instill the leadership basic traits into the participants. A remarkable initial presentation followed by a leadership challenge competition were the main parts of the workshop. This leadership challenge was a thought stimulating activity which was all about thinking strategically to optimize your organizational success, how to lead a team, how to motivate and recharge your followers during the heat of real life business battle.
The learning outcome from ULSM summer school not only improved my knowledge about Business Administration but also it converted me to a better me who is able to utilize the hands on business skills like Public speaking, Strategic thinking, teamwork, leadership, entrepreneurship skills in workplace more skillfully and confidently.

The summer school was one my best experiences in my professional and academic career. I enjoyed this program very well and would like to participate in another program in the future.  Its a great value added program which all the MBA students should participate in order to enrich their experience and knowledge with Leicester MBA.
